My Testimony – A Journey of Grace
More than ten years ago, I reached a point in my life where I was ready to end it all. I was overwhelmed by hopelessness, but in that darkest moment, God, by His special grace, brought a thought of Him into my heart.
I wasn't a religious person—in fact, I was rebellious. I deceived my mother into thinking I was attending high school, but for more than two years I wasted my life in meaningless pursuits: smoking, drinking, and other destructive behaviors.
At around 21 years old, one sleepless night, deep questions began to flood my mind:
“Why am I here?”
“How can I break this cycle of life?”
“I’m tired and bored of living—what’s the point?”
In desperation, I cried out, “If You are real, God—take me! I didn’t create myself, You did! So take me! I don’t want to see the morning again!”
But God didn’t take my life that night. Instead, He gave me something far more valuable—hope and purpose. I wrote down two thoughts that came to me so clearly:
God has a purpose for me.
I have a mission in this life.
From that moment on, I began reading the Bible, and I came to know Jesus. I received Him as my Lord and Savior, and my life was radically transformed by His amazing grace. He took away my addictions, confusion, and depression, and gave me clarity, peace, and direction.
As I grew in faith, I started with personal prayer and reading the Bible daily. Eventually, I felt the need to gather with other believers. I first attended a Catholic church, but something inside me felt unsettled—the sermons didn’t align with what I was reading in Scripture. I continued seeking, visiting different religious gatherings, but each time I listened, I felt that same inner conflict—something wasn’t right.
One day, I came across a Christian worship program on TV that deeply moved me. I said to myself, “I want to be part of a gathering like that.” Soon after, a lady invited me to a Christian service. I attended, and for the first time, the message spoke directly to my heart. I told her I wanted to be baptized, but she encouraged me to wait and keep attending, not knowing that I was already reading the Bible faithfully.
Later, I reconnected with an old classmate who told me about his church. I visited, and there I was baptized and began my discipleship journey. I served as an usher, a children’s minister, and a youth minister. I kept growing in the Lord, still seeking clarity about His specific calling for my life.
By His mercy, God guided me through His Word and encounters with the Holy Spirit, giving me understanding of my purpose and identity in Christ. I started sharing the Gospel with others, inviting them to church, and eventually stepped into my calling. I met a missionary who trained and mentored me, confirmed the call of God in my life, and imparted spiritual gifts to help me serve more effectively.
I began evangelizing one-on-one in parks, preaching on public transportation and in street markets. Invitations started coming from different local churches. I joined a missionary organization to gain cross-cultural experience and expand the mission.
My first international mission was in Malaysia, followed by Singapore, then Taiwan. Later, I was part of a mission journey to Canada—where, by God’s grace, I met my wife. Together, we continue to share the Gospel and serve others.
All of this has happened by Grace, and I am continuing in His grace. This is not the end of the story—it’s only the beginning. As we continue to walk in obedience and share the Good News, we invite you to journey with us. May God’s grace abound in your life as it has in ours.
